Op. Dr. Ahmet Hakan Kara was born in Ankara in 1988. In 2012, he graduated from Ankara Gazi University Faculty of Medicine where he received his medical degree. In 2013, he passed the TUS specialization exam and was entitled to specialize in orthopedics and traumatology. In 2019, he completed his residency at Ankara Ufuk University Dr. Rıdvan Ege Hospital. In 2018, as part of his residency, he completed the sports injuries and joint surgery fellowship program at Quironsalud Barcelona Hospital, working with Dr. Ramon Cugat in Barcelona, Spain. In 2019, he successfully completed the TOTBID-TOTEK Board Examination and became a member of the Turkish orthopedics and traumatology education board.

In 2019-2020, he completed his compulsory service as an orthopedics and traumatology specialist at Van Muradiye State Hospital. Between 2020-2022, he transferred to Van Private Akdamar Hospital and served as deputy chief physician at Private Akdamar Hospital in the same year. Then, Op. Dr. Ahmet Hakan Kara, who started to serve his patients in Istanbul, has been working in his own clinic since 2024.

Op. Dr. Ahmet Hakan Kara has a special interest in arthroscopic joint preservation surgeries, arthroplasty (knee and hip prosthesis) surgeries, sports surgery and regenerative medicine. He has successfully completed more than 2000 surgeries in the last 6 years. He has also co-edited and authored two medical books and published in national and international medical journals. In 2018, he received the first prize in the poster presentation category at the 28th National Turkish Orthopedics and Traumatology Congress.

Op. Dr. Ahmet Hakan Kara is a member of TOTBID, TOTBID-AGUH, TOTEK, TÜRKOT-DER and Hip Knee Artholoplasty Association. On weekends, he volunteers with the ‘Van Healthy Life and Socio-Cultural Development Association’ to help poor patients in rural areas who cannot go to public hospitals. He also regularly organizes healthy life camps and health meetings in sports, preparing the ground for both social and informative environments.

Op. Dr. Ahmet Hakan Kara lives in Istanbul. He loves reading, traveling, cycling, fitness and skiing.
